About my Loss:
I lost my Papa(father) on December 7th, 2013. Two days before my birthday & a day I will never forget. In August 2013 he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. He went through chemotherapy & radiation for the next few months. He lost about 60lbs while going through that. The last time I saw him was in September and he wasn't looking quite like himself but was still having the brightest smile in the room. On December 7th his wife called me at 4 a.m. telling me that he was in the hospital and the doctors weren't expecting him to make it. I left my house as soon as I got off of the phone with her & drove 4 hours north to the hospital he was at. When I arrived his wife began to tell me what had happened. December 6th my papa went in for a routine checkup. His tumor was shrinking so his doctor wanted to check it out. When the doctors went to check his tumor they noticed that it had tore open one of his aorta which is one of your main arteries. He coded & was resesitated after 25 minutes. They put him on life support so we could say our goodbyes. It is still hard for me to grasp the fact that he is gone. I miss him so much everyday. In my heart he will be forever until the end of time.

To my dear Papa

I have been having trouble finding the words to say,

Nothing has seemed right since you've passed away.

A daddy's girl through and through,

No one will ever compare to you

You taught me how to read and write

Always kept me in your sight

I remember staring into your big blue eyes

More beautiful than the bluest skies.

There are so many things that I miss,

Your loving embrace & a sweet kiss.…

Sadly you will probably feel ALL those things for awhile... the anger, the pain, the fear, the guilt, the anguish... and so many other emotions that seem to spring out of nowhere for no apparent reason and tear you up... its the helplessness of it all I think.. we can't do ANYTHING to change the horrible thing that's happened... its just plain horrible and we just have to suck it up and live with it because there's nothing we can do ... so sorry you have to be in this group with us....

Grandma sewing room

So I am almost done with cleaning my grandmas sewing room that wasn’t touched in 10 years because of all the mess, but now that she passed away 2 days ago, I don’t know if I should continue, I wanna finish what I started but I don’t know what to do, my grandpa is still alive and I don’t want to leave this burden on him.See More
