About Me:
Still recovering from 18 years of marriage to an alcoholic. The emotional destruction of navigating life with an alcoholic is a hard wound to patch.
About my Loss:
I left the marriage 8 years ago after pleading for him to get help. He died a little over a week ago, alone ...from alcohol abuse. He was not found for over a week. He had alienated me, his family, friends and children. I made the choice to leave, but I'm still heart sick that he chose the path he did. He had it all, but chose the alcohol over everything else ... I didn't want this for him ... There was no way to fix it :( And now, it is done. Irreversibly ... done. What a terrible disease.
