About Me:
35 years a wife ... 21 days a widow
I am 54 years old.
A mother to 2 and a grandmother to 4.
About my Loss:
My husband died 21 days ago. He was a diabetic, who was also on dialysis. He had not worked in 2 years due to a shoulder injury that caused him to be disabled.
He had had a bad year this year, but according to the doctors, the tests, the labs - just 2 weeks before he died - he was doing better. So much better that we had began to make plans for the summer. And then ... 21 days ago, he woke up with a leg cramp. I stood up and walked around the bed, intending on rubbing his legs. I looked down into his eyes, first. Eyes of love and peace - no fear, no pain. I asked him what he wanted - he could not talk. Thinking his mouth was dry, I looked over to where his water bottle was, turned back to him -- and he was gone.

My mom died 4 months ago

My mom had pulmonary fibrosis. She was sick for a few years. It was funny how when my grandmother smoked, my mom would always say-I’m gonna die from second hand smoke. My mom never smoked. She died from lung disease. Ironic.I was fine at the funeral. Planning. Talking to everyone. I thought u handled it great. Now 4 months later, I’m a mess. Some days I’m perfectly fine, but others I can’t walk down the street without crying. I keep thinking that I haven’t talked to her in a while & I…See More
