I feel numb and almost disconnected from the rest of the world. I put up our tree about 15 minutes ago and needed to walk away from it. I still have to put the lights on, but it the tree was something my mom did every year. I thought this year I would just be "filling in". I know I have to keep going for my daughter, but it's so hard. I'm also finding it hard to accept condolences from people who haven't lost a parent (especially a mother).
