About Me:
I am a mom, wife, nurse and grieving parent. I work as a geropsych nurse on an inpatient behavioral health unit. I love my family, friends and patients. Recently reunited with many family members from my biological family that I never knew as an adopted person. Had a happy childhood with adoptive parents who loved me. After my adoptive parents died in the 1980's, I met my birth mom in 1990 and dad in 2002. I am very blessed.
About my Loss:
My 26 year old son, Lee, died on June 29th, 2008. my life has been upside down, inside out since. I have gone through severe depression, even thinking of suicide and have been carried through this time by God, my husband and other moms who have lost children. In the early months I wrote poems to express my aching loss. I still have short term memory problems, which my MD says is a part of grieving. I think of Lee every second of every minute of every hour. I am waiting for the day I will see him and hold him some day in heaven.

Glad you are part of this community. May every second that you think of Lee be filled with memories of everything that made him your son!

Know that you have been thought of this morning...

My mom died 4 months ago

My mom had pulmonary fibrosis. She was sick for a few years. It was funny how when my grandmother smoked, my mom would always say-I’m gonna die from second hand smoke. My mom never smoked. She died from lung disease. Ironic.I was fine at the funeral. Planning. Talking to everyone. I thought u handled it great. Now 4 months later, I’m a mess. Some days I’m perfectly fine, but others I can’t walk down the street without crying. I keep thinking that I haven’t talked to her in a while & I…See More
