Lenora,
In 2001 I lost my grandfather, who raised me, to cancer and my brother to murder. 2001 was a bad year for me. I never met my brother, he was raised by my paternal grandparents, never met them either, and everyone kept the truth from me about my brother. I'm really suffering from not meeting him before he was murdered, I only found out he existed 5 months after his death. It is so amazing that I grieve over someone I have never met, but yet feel such a bond to him. I won't bore you with the details, but I will tell you grief is a journey best taken with others who are experiencing the same. It really helps to share. You might want to post pictures if you wish.

About Me:
Hi, I'm a sister, wife, mom and grandmother now, and a daughter. In the last year, I've lost my entire childhood family. First my father died on Easter morning of 2008, before I could get home. In Nov. of 2008, I received word that my mom wasn't doing well. My co-workers, God bless them forever, got me home before she died , four days before Thanksgiving. At the time I was going home to see both my mom and my sister, who was dying from Ovarian cancer. I saw them both, loved them both, and returned to my home. I lost my only sister on April 25th of this year, and six weeks later, lost my last surviving family member when I lost my only brother to a sudden heart attack. My entire family, gone, just like that.I am shell shocked, totally stunned, which might be a blessing, considering all that's happened.
Totally unbelievable to me, who loses their entire childhood family in a span of 14 months? I miss them, feel really lost without them.

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More
