About Me:
I am a 50-year-old female. I work as an Licensed Professional Counselor in Michigan. I have one son and five step-sons, and four grandchildren (another one on the way). I love anything to do with crafts, reading, watching movies and traveling
About my Loss:
I lost my mother to colon cancer on September 11, 2011. On the day of her funeral, September 17, 2011, my husband went in for emergency surgery in the morning to have a brain tumor removed (he had gone to the hospital a couple days prior to that complaining of a persistent headache and some weakness on one side). Following his surgery, we were told that he had terminal cancer. He began treatment and we were told that he could live up to two more years. I came home on November 14, 2011 (the day after my 50th birthday) and found him dead. He apparently laid down for a nap and died in his sleep. In the period of two months, I lost my two best friends and my life hasn't been the same since.

I am a service provider in the sense that I am a mental health therapist, but in this particular case, I am looking for support for myself and a means to reach out to others who are also struggling with loss.

Grandma sewing room
