About my Loss:
My parents divorced when I was 2 but remained friends. My mom began a relationship with my stepdad, Eddie, shortly after the divorce. I saw my dad every other weekend and Thursday's up until my mom died of pancreatic cancer when I was 13. I then moved in with my dad and had almost zero contact with my stepdad from there on out (even though he'd raised me from the age of 2). I became a druggie teen with a major attitude problem and had issues with my dad. Fast forward to the age of 21 when I (kind of) get my shit together and become a mother myself. Dad becomes my best friend and only type of familial support. I find out my step dad died when I was 24 with no kind of closure or chance to say goodbye. My dad passed away suddenly in 2013 from a heart attack. My daughter (age 5), my dog, and myself were the ones to find him in his apartment. Probably more detail than I needed, sorry.
