Profile Information

About Me:
I am 65 years old, a caregiver, have suffered multiple losses. I have been on disability since 1994. At the moment I am feeling isolated and depressed. I am married (17 years) to a wonderful man and my best friend...but putting all of this on him alone is not fair. I also have a step-son whom I consider my own.
About my Loss:
After caring for my Dad for a few years at home and then the last 4 months in home hospice we lost him in Feb 1995. In June of 1998 My 18 year old niece was killed in an automobile accident. In January of 2001 her mother, my older sister, passed from a life long kidney disease. In 2004 my sister-in-law died unexpectedly from a pulmonary embolism. My mother is 87 and suffers from many different things and I see her deteriorating health daily. My two sisters and a niece live with her and I live two blocks away. One sister has had and survived ovarian cancer, a shattered knee leading to a bone infection after surgery and a few years later had blood poisoning from a sinus infection. She now has cirrhosis from the chemo. My next younger sister has suffered from epilepsy for 40 years and we have almost lost her twice to seizures. She also suffers from a chronic pain disorder and a long list of other less life threatening disorders. My niece has aspergers. I have a great fear of losing them all within a short period of time. I am so tired.

I am so sorry you’re going through all that Kerry. It sounds like too much for one person. If you ever want to talk or vent, I am here to listen!

BTW, I am just down the road in Abilene! We're practically neighbors :)
