- About Me:
- I'm in my 20s married to my best friend and we have a beautiful 2-year old son. He cooks for a living and I'm in school to become a Nurse. I love music, food, family/friends, traveling, and comedy. I am eternally an optimist even when things are at it's worse.
- About my Loss:
- My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer two weeks before my son was born. Soon after they discovered it had already metasized to 3 other places - her hip, vertebrae, and liver. A year later she had beaten all the tumors except the hip. They radiated her hip fall 2010. It was around that time I realized she was not the same and pushed my dad to get her brain checked. They found 9 tumors, 3 of decent size, and some were on her midbrain so she was inoperable. They immediately did a full head radiation but despite it's 85% success rate, it did not work on her. A few months later they did the gamma knife which was also 85% success, but also did not work. Within the next few months her mind and body deterioriated slowly. She began falling more regularly and I took a big part in helping my father with my mother. She had many set backs throughout the last 9 months. It seemed the doctors weren't ready to tell my dad that's it until 5 days before she passed. We were told 2-8 weeks September 18th and she passed the 23rd. She will always be my favorite person.
