Dear Kate,

Please accept my support and friendship. My mother passed to the next world June 2011. I still can't even say the day. I can't even look at the paper that says the actual day she passed. Weird I know. We all have coping mechanisms that help us get through the day. My mom was so loving and caring. She suffered. She no longer suffers. When our moms pass on they are still our moms, they are simply in another place. We will see them again. Please read this:

We learn so much about ourselves on the road to recovery after loss.  Not all of it is good, but all of it is important.  I don't think there is a more important lesson that the souls can teach us, than to learn how to forgive ourselves for whatever we have done to ourselves and those around us because we are in pain.  We can't hope to move on to a perfect world if can't see the importance of setting ourselves free from guilt, from anger and from pain.  To forgive ourselves is to fix the soul, and lighten the load here just enough to be able to continue our journey of hope. – George Anderson

George Anderson has several wonderful books he has written about life after this life. Understanding what happens when we leave this world is important in your ability to move forward with YOUR JOURNEY. I am 56 years old and for the first time in my entire life my mother is not here to be the mother I always had. But she is still my mother and I am still her daughter. Out of respect and love for her - I am living my life the best I can to make her proud of me. That is their legacy. US. Sue

Kate,

I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing.  Mothers are our anchors and hiding places throughout our lives.  Who can be our anchor and place of safety now?  Do you believe in a higher power?  God?  I believe that he cares and is our refuge.  Maybe the place to start your recovery is to tell us about your mom.  Are you able to tell your story yet? If you can I would like to hear about her.

Your friend,

Brenda
