About Me:
I am a disabled RN, quit working last year, mother of 3 daughters, step-daughter and stepson, all grown, 6 grandchildren. My husband died 2-8-13, we were together 22 years, married almost 20, our anniversary is May 21st. We were even boyfriend, girlfriend for a while as kids, he was everything to me, best friends, quitting work last March was such a blessing. We traveled, i took care of him and house, i loved it. He had just turned 55 2 weeks before. His Dad died 3 weeks before him. I will miss him everyday until we meet again in heaven. My kids and grandbabies are now the reason for continuing to live. My constant companion is Sammie Jo, he is a poodle/bischon, he keeps me moving or I would stay in bed all day
About my Loss:
My husband died on 2-8-13. He walked into ER, he had been sick with flu for a week, I had been sick too, i got it 3 days after he did. When he was ever sick he was such a baby, taking temp constantly, which was never above 101.6. they told me quickly it was very bad even though he had no temp, he had pneumonia, they also said they believed he had a pulmonary embolus, they put him on a vent and they he went by helicopter to a bigger hospital. Doctor there said he had a 50/50 chance. His heart stopped 5 times there and twice at smaller hospital. I knew as a nurse he was not gonna survive this but I could not give up. They allowed me to be by his side kissing him and holding on, the fifth time I watched as they did cpr. I was praying so hard that God would save him, but I knew he needed permission to go so I leaned down and told him he could go if he had to, I didn't want him to, but I would be ok, almost immediately his heart stopped again, nobody did anything, kept looking at me like, are you gonna make us do this again, I said no. He died just 12 hours after walking into ER, talking to me until he was put on vent. I loved, still love him so very much

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More
