About Me:
I am a fifty five year old woman with a twenty two year old son. I am at a crossroads in my life facing many challenges and dealing with many issues in the aftermath of my parent's death this past year.
About my Loss:
Both my mom and my dad died this year. My father had been my mother'primary caregiver and died unexpectedly in February of last year. He had a history of melanoma and had an unexpected metasisis and died within a very short time after diagnosis. I cared for him in the weeks before his death at his home with the help and support of hospice. After his death, I became my mother's primary caregiver and essentially restructured my entire life around her care. My mother had been chronically ill for several years having both copd and a chronic pain condition which required multiple medical protocals and a high level of care. My mother chose me as her primary health care agent and her power of attorney in all her affairs. At first this was supported in the family by siblings but as time unfolded and as she made difficult decisions for herself, my role became increasingly difficult and often impossible with the difficulties of being one of five with great dissension inthe family. My mother chose to have hospice support herself last spring and passed away this past Sept. Three of my four siblings have accused me of wrongdoing and of having a role in my mother's decline and passing. They have involved the police and threatened to sue hospice. I have not spoken to these three siblings since my mother's death. My older brother and I are very close and talk regularly. I was questioned by the police about my mother's care the day of her death in my home. Hospice has been fully supportive of me and in no way thinks I did anything but help shepard both my parents to the next life and provide them with hope faith compassion care and love.

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More
