About Me:
I'll be 45 in August, given early retirement from work due to health issues. Currently trying to get a retail website off the ground, things are slow...but I plod on.
I am in the process of separating from my husband and I have a 22 year old daughter still living at home. My big passions in life are music, cooking and reading....these three 'hobbies' are the things that make my life worthwhile.
About my Loss:
My aunt, who was only 10 years older than me, died in August 2006. Her funeral took place on my birthday. She was so much more than my aunt; my parents lived with my maternal grandparents for several years when they were married, and a number of my maternal aunts were still living in the family home. Rosemary, my deceased aunt, was more like my big sister, she took me everywhere with her and we shared a room at times.
We had spookily similar taste in music and would often phone each other just to tell the other to go listen to something we'd just discovered. She was my rock..my aunt/sister/part mother/very best friend and so completely on the same wavelength it was spooky.
I miss her dreadfully, and the pain has hardly decreased one iota. We would text each other several times daily..and we often said or typed exactly the same things at the same time. She was my twin soul....and I still find life absolutely gut-wrenchingly, heart-breakingly unbearable without her.

Does anyone else feel pressure to always reply because you're afraid it'll be the last conversation?

Hi everyone. This is my first post here.I lost my brother in December 2024 to an accidental overdose. He passed away suddenly in his sleep. We were only a year and a half apart in age, and he was the closest person I've ever had.One thing I've been struggling with ever since is that I feel an overwhelming pressure to reply to texts and answer calls as soon as I can. If someone messages me and I don't respond right away, my mind starts thinking, "What if something happens to them before I reply?…See More
