About Me:
Well let's see.....I'm 26, and have the most beautiful daughter in the whole world. She is extra special because she was born on the same day as my little brother Erik. He was killed 6 years ago. She has helped me so much going through the pain of losing him. I am also a stepmommy to 3 more beautiful children.I really love being a Mom. My whole family has been great. My family is the best thing in my life. When it comes to me its pretty much my daughters, my sons and my family. I like traveling, listening to music, singing when noone is listening, watching my HUSKERS play and just enjoying my life.
About my Loss:
I lost my little brother Erik on Labor Day in 2004. He was only 13 years old. He was thrown from a golf cart ( I never realized how dangerous they can be) in a very tragic accident. My family is extremely close and this was a devastating loss in our family. I always tell people that I lost both of my parents that day as well because they never were the same. In September 2009, my father passed away. He was only 65. He died of a heart attack. His health had declined when my brother passed away. I think he blamed himself. The month of September is now a horrible month for me.

On Labor Day in 2004 my little brother was tragically taken from our family. My parents owned their own business and were working at the Nebraska State Fair. It was the last day of the fair and my husband, brother Guy, and I went to another festival with our business for the Labor Day Holiday. I can re-live that day over and over again with very specific…

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More

Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.

Loss of a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide

If you have lost a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide please share your story or feelings here. Share the love and beauty of the one you lost. Losing someone any of these ways is not natural and can be hard to understand and ask why? I lost my Mother to an overdose 9 years ago. She also suffered from major depression. Her doctor got her hooked on pain medication and she was addicted most of my life. These doctors who were suppose to help her ended up killing her in the end. I also…See More
