Gail, I am so sorry for the loss of your husband after so many years together.
I totally understand the medical comments, as ten years ago, my husband was diagnosed with "terminal prostate cancer." The docs here in TX said he was terminal, no chance, no need to operate. He consulted with all the "top" docs in the state, MD Anderson in Houston, UT Southwestern Dallas, Baylor, Presbyterian, etc. ALL of them told him he had 3-6 months "tops...go out spend your money, enjoy lfe" etc. On a whim. he went to Mayo, had a prostatectomy, & he lived a very healthy, vibrant life until 6 weeks ago. I made several trips to Mayo with him, & repeatedly heard the same types of stories. "The other doctors gave up on them."
That being said, I live in Plano, not far from you, and would love to get together with you. I'm not from Tx, lived here since 1988, although plan to eventually move back to Oregon. When you are ready, please email me, mkath1409@yahoo.com. I understand being alone, as I don't have a lot of friends or family around.
Take care,
Mariann
