About my Loss:
My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was in the seventh grade. She did treatment and was in remission for 10 years before being diagnosed again in 2011. This time however she was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. By 2014 her cancer spread to places like her spine, brain, and stomach. My mom received treatment for about a year and at the beginning of 2015 decided to end treatment and use hospice care to try to improve her quality of life. Though they were able to help may her comfortable, mom's quality of life never improved. I lost her in the middle of August 2015 and am still going through stages of denial and shock.
