About my Loss:
My sister passed away on April 1st from cancer. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon cancer that had masticized, 3 years ago. Up until six months ago, she seemed to be getting better. The chemo had the cancer 90% gone. Then she began to weaken dramatically. The put a stent in her liver duct and she improved almost immediately. That was the first week of February. Two weeks before she died all of her "numbers" were in the normal range and she had gained two pounds.

THEN, a week later she was incredibly emaciated, weak, and dehydrated. She had a CT scan done on Saturday. No hope. She died the following Wed.

It was so shocking. She was getting better! Then, her liver and kidneys shut down and she chose hospice care at home. She went from looking thin and tired to looking 90 years old and starving. It was horrendous.

I miss her so much. It's easier now, but then I remember.

She was 46. I'm older by 5 years. When my parents put her on my lap when they brought her home from the hospital as a newborn, I thought they were giving her to me. I spent the rest of her life as a second mom in so many ways.

She left a 4yo and an 11yo. Their father moved them 2000 miles away. It's like 4 deaths instead of one.

It's just so very strange that she's not here anymore. I miss her.

Grandma sewing room

So I am almost done with cleaning my grandmas sewing room that wasn’t touched in 10 years because of all the mess, but now that she passed away 2 days ago, I don’t know if I should continue, I wanna finish what I started but I don’t know what to do, my grandpa is still alive and I don’t want to leave this burden on him.See More
