About my Loss:
I hadn't seen my Mother in 8 years. She was tken to hospital with pneumonia on the Saturday. I got a call on the Thursday to say she was on life support. I flew there and went straight to her. She was so sunken and white. She had an oxygen mask on her face like something you would see on an experimental monkey. Her hands were tied to the bed to stop her from pulling the mask off. I undid them and she tore at it trying to get it off. I was able to talk to her using a pen and paper. The mask was causing her a lot of discomfort. During the night she became cyanotic and we were called to go through. She was stable, but had been sedated so she couldn't take the mask off. The following morning I went to see her. I sat by her bed - she was still sedated and would be kept that way forever to make sure she didn't remove the mask. I sat for an hour and at the end I had made my decision. I phoned the doctor and he agreed. I told them a time and they removed the mask. She was alive without the mask for 20 minutes with me holding her hand and talking to her. I will never in my life forget the nurse - "call it at 3.25". It was 2 years ago and I am still crying.

My mom died 4 months ago

My mom had pulmonary fibrosis. She was sick for a few years. It was funny how when my grandmother smoked, my mom would always say-I’m gonna die from second hand smoke. My mom never smoked. She died from lung disease. Ironic.I was fine at the funeral. Planning. Talking to everyone. I thought u handled it great. Now 4 months later, I’m a mess. Some days I’m perfectly fine, but others I can’t walk down the street without crying. I keep thinking that I haven’t talked to her in a while & I…See More
