Profile Information

About Me:
I am a 49 year old widow with a deep enjoyment of life, and a growing capacity to accept and deal with life's attendant pains, doubts, and discomforts. The suicide of my husband, and the ongoing fallout forced me to develop the strength and heart to live and love in the face of catastrophic loss.
About my Loss:
I am a survivor of Spousal suicide. The seven year anniversary passed in June 2011. I am in the process of re integrating my shattered life and have overcome almost all the incapacity that was imposed on me the pstd, grief, isolation and everything else that comes with the package.
Are You a Service Provider? If Yes, please tell us about your service.
I am the founder of Transitions Hotline, social network for the bereaved. The site currently lists your organization as a free online bereavement resource outside of my website. While Transitions is a bereavement social network very similar to yours, we have no desire to compete or eclipse your web presence or the valuable sanctuary you offer to the bereaved. It's my hope that we can compliment one another as your site offers things that mine doesn't, and vice versa. Plus, it's not unusual for people to belong to multiple forums. Some end up feeling like "home" and without all of us bringing what we have to the table, the buffet would be rather limited, and fewer people might find that connection.

I would be delighted if any participants here found a good fit both here and at Transitions, but if not, your feedback will be invaluable.

When formally launched, Transitions Hotline will be a paid membership site. A not for profit sister corporation, TransitionsHotline.com will donate all proceeds beyond operating costs to TransitionsHotline.org, which will then disburse the funds to any legit bereavement organization who offers free support, by the bereaved, for the bereaved.

I would like to invite all members of this forum to apply for a free membership at Transitions Hotline, to sample the site and offer your feedback on what's working for you, and what's not.

All participants will be invited to remain at no charge, for the life of the website.

In return for your patronage, I will feature this website first among the bereavement resources that are featured in their own forum on Transitions Hotline, for the life time of Online GriefSupport.com

Finally, there are a number of bugs that need to be ironed out, so those corrections will be underway, as well as the addition of new links over the next few months. The website should still function but there might be annoyances here and there as Transitions readies for a formal launch.

The Canadian press has contacted me and has asked for a phone interview, in view of doing feature in the lifestyle's section.

If all goes well, I can time that opportunity with the official launch of Transitions Hotline.

Hope I have not overstepped my bounds here, and I hope this sounds interesting enough to check out.

Thanks for reading.

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More
