Diane, my heart goes out to you; my condolences on the loss of your mom. Being an only child has its blessings and curses. My only child, my 33 year old daughter, died from injuries sustained in an ATV accident on May 25, 2009. We celebrated what was to be her final birthday on May 10, 2009 (Mother's Day). This year Mother's Day was on May 9, her birthday on May 10...I was an emotional mess. And like you, the actions/inactions of my son in law make me both very sad and angry...but I had to let go. I cannot change what happened nor can I change him.
