Dee Dee. Our children were the same age. I feel your loss and wish there were words that would comfort you. The pain is so deep it hurts us physically. I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful son. You are in my thoughts and prayers. At least here we are not alone.

I wanted to say "are you kidding me" but I know you wouldn't be because it's your child. But can you believe your son died on my birthday??? How sad Dee Dee. Where do you live? I know, like you, I gave it to God, I had to. Just had too. Thanks for reaching out to me.

Dee Dee - I am so sorry for your loss - drugs are so dangerous and I only wish something could be done to rid our world of the dealers and suppliers forever. I hope that you can take heart from the fact that he was trying to get his life back together, that he was trying to kick the drugs and was trying to regain some control by telling you all. My heart goes out to you, so early in this terrible grief.

Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More

Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.

Loss of a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide

If you have lost a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide please share your story or feelings here. Share the love and beauty of the one you lost. Losing someone any of these ways is not natural and can be hard to understand and ask why? I lost my Mother to an overdose 9 years ago. She also suffered from major depression. Her doctor got her hooked on pain medication and she was addicted most of my life. These doctors who were suppose to help her ended up killing her in the end. I also…See More
