About Me:
I am a 62 year old woman who lives in Florida. I have no immediate family and I am a widow with no children.
About my Loss:
My roommate's Mom has been getting treatment for a couple of spots on her lungs. She has beat cancer twice before. Talked to her on Monday April 3, 2017 ans she told us after her CT and PET scan results came in, it has spread to more of the lungs, the liver, lymph nodes and bones. She was given 6 months. I lost my Mom when I was 20 and Dad when I was 28. I was widowed at 35 and have not remarried. My roommate's Mom and Step-Father actually thought about adopting me. I met them over 30 years ago and they knew my late husband and father-in-law. She is 81 and the atticipation of this process has me shaken to the core. I love her as a Mother and friend and it is so hard to think that she will be gone from my life. I have never experienced this before and don't know what to do about myself and helping her. I live in Florida and she is in Delaware. I don't want her to go through this alone but I have a life and responsibilities here. I am so torn and tearful. I don't know what to do. My roommate, her daughter, and my friend are not close like a mother and daughter should be. There is anger and resentment from the daughter and I am having a hard time handling that. The daughter is so wrapped up in the past and can't see her way to supporting her mother. It is quite a mess.

Grandma sewing room

So I am almost done with cleaning my grandmas sewing room that wasn’t touched in 10 years because of all the mess, but now that she passed away 2 days ago, I don’t know if I should continue, I wanna finish what I started but I don’t know what to do, my grandpa is still alive and I don’t want to leave this burden on him.See More
