- About Me:
- I am 37 yrs old with a 17 yr old & a little boy that just turned 3 in July. I am diagnosed with PTSD from the horrible tragedy & loss that my family has endured.
- About my Loss:
- My 33 yr old husband was working on our car with our son when I was at work. My husband panicked when he felt the car shift a little & he flung himself over to make sure our son was away from the car. With him doing that he knocked into the passenger side axle so hard it went into the top of his head & the whole car smashed down on top of him. My son was home for some time before I came down the driveway & could hear him screaming for someone to help cause his dadda was dead, thats when I saw my husbands legs coming out from under the car. I jumped out & ran to the car & tried so hard to lift the car but there was no way possible for me to do it. My son came out of the garage covered head to toe with dirt because he had tried to dig to get under the car to save his dadda. As I called 911 & went to my husbands hand that was reaching out from the car & he was purple & so called. I am a nurse,(well at least I was), so i knew that he was already gone. I wasnt expecting to see what I saw when I looked under the car. My husbands face was right there, so close in fact our noses touched & that is the only thing I see every second of every day. No therapist will talk to my son because of his age. All counseling places said that they dont take kids at least until they are 4 yrs old because most kids younger than that cant talk very well & dont have the capacity to understand whats going on. Then they say he is young, he wont even remember the accident. That is not right at all!!!! I need help not only for myself but I also need help finding someone that will talk to our son. He is regressing very bad right now. Doesnt want to leave the house, wont go outside to play. I cant bribe him with candy, cars, or Chuckie Cheese. He has always talked about his dadda being dead but he would sit & talk to him outside. In the beginning he reinacted the whole accident & hasnt been able to actually have a nights sleep with out having nightmares. But it has only been within the last 2 weeks that I have noticed him regressing.
