About my Loss:
My beautiful son Nicholas suddenly passed away on October 21, 2009. Although it`s been almost 8 years it`s still a challenge to keep going without him in my life. I have acquired some coping skills to help me deal with the immense painful emptiness I feel, but it`s always a struggle.
It`s especially difficult to hear about your friend`s childrens wedding, first grandchild, birthdays and holiday events, while knowing that none of those events will ever take place.
Life has taken a completly diffirent turn for me, and while I still refer to them as my friends, I can feel the distance growing.
I can understand, but it doesn`t make it any easier.
I am trying to find a place where I can feel free to talk about how to cope and to read about someone else who is experiencing the same struggles as I am in trying to cope with the loss of their only child.
