Profile Information

About Me:
I am 61, retired accountant. I have a wonderful and supportive husband, two adult children and 6 grandchildren. I am an only child. I live on the North Shore of Boston
About my Loss:
On 06/23/16, I lost my father. He had pancreatic cancer that he had known about since 12/2014 but had told no one in our family. My father was involved in a romance scam for 14 years with a woman that served as caretaker of my mother. She was roughly 50 years younger. She ended up with most of his money over the years, often to the point that he had to borrow money to buy groceries. He made his burial policy to someone he barely knew. He was cognizant until the end. At the last week, he got sick and my son took him to the emergency room. We were told at that point about the cancer. He was placed into hospice and taken to my daughter's house to await the end. I went down to VA and my daughter, daughter in law and I cared for him until he passed away. This has left me with bad feelings of betrayal that he did not trust his own family. None of us had done anything but be good to him. I had begged him to move to Boston with me. He refused repeatedly. I don't understand this and it is putting me at a very bad place. I don't sleep well, I can't eat or function. I need help in dealing with all this.

My mom died 4 months ago

My mom had pulmonary fibrosis. She was sick for a few years. It was funny how when my grandmother smoked, my mom would always say-I’m gonna die from second hand smoke. My mom never smoked. She died from lung disease. Ironic.I was fine at the funeral. Planning. Talking to everyone. I thought u handled it great. Now 4 months later, I’m a mess. Some days I’m perfectly fine, but others I can’t walk down the street without crying. I keep thinking that I haven’t talked to her in a while & I…See More
