About Me:
I'm a 41 year old single working mother of a 15 year old teen son and I'm now raising my 9 year old niece, jointly, with my sister, due to the death of my youngest sister last February. I live in the Houston area near my parents and 3 sisters.
About my Loss:
I/we lost my youngest sister last year at age 32. She died unexpectedly after an evening out to dinner with my parents, who she was living with, and her 8 year old daughter, Emily and her sons, 4 and 3, at the time. She did have stage 4 breast cancer and was receiving chemotherapy treatments for a 2 nd go round in 3 years since her original diagnosis; however, she was doing well we thought. Her children found her on the floor when they woke up the next morning and ran in to get my parents. The baby boys had gotten up first and were watching tv in the same room with her and told their sister that mommy was still sleeping when she woke up. It looks like she was trying to get a breathing treatment from her sons nebulizer machine, as she was found on her knees with the nebulizer mask clutched in her hand. My parents didn't order an autopsy, so I guess we will never know what happened. I'm so saddened by losing her; it still isn't easy to grasp the concept that she's gone....

Grandma sewing room
