Hi Everyone,
My name is Carlyn, and I live in the Ft. Lauderdale area. I joined this site because a very dear friend of mine was killed in a hit-and-run accident in May. My friend Rick, whom I called my "little brother" was on his bicycle in Back Bay Boston around 2am when a drunk driver rear ended him, sent him airborne, and then dragged him down the street while trying to flee. Traumatic loss of an only child
I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.

Hi Carlyn,
I can understand. I have kept my girlfriends phone number that passed suddenly. I called it a few times and left messages. Someone retained her number and I explained what had happened. I apologized and told her that I would stop calling. I feel good that I have great relations with her mother and family.
