About Me:
24 years old, student, recovering alcoholic.
About my Loss:
6 days ago my fiance paced away in a fatal accident. We have only been together for about a year and a half and are both addicts of some sort. We recently moved to iowa and were in recovery. We blught a new car and a got a great condo. Our lives before in california where we lived before were often a struggle but iowa felt like home and our lives had improved imensly. Sadly he was speeding and probably texting and hit a telephone pole and was ejected from the car. Dead on the spot. Which is somewhat comforting because if he hadnt of been ejected he would ha e been trapped in the car on fire and suffered. I miss him so much its unbearable. I know its only been six days and the greving process can take months and years but i just needed to speak out to someone who has gone threw something similiar. No one in my life has lost a spouse or anything related excepet my uncle. I am moving back to mass. Where i am from to be with my family and i will see my uncle there. But any advice or words of what helped others would be wonderful.

Does anyone else feel pressure to always reply because you're afraid it'll be the last conversation?

Hi everyone. This is my first post here.I lost my brother in December 2024 to an accidental overdose. He passed away suddenly in his sleep. We were only a year and a half apart in age, and he was the closest person I've ever had.One thing I've been struggling with ever since is that I feel an overwhelming pressure to reply to texts and answer calls as soon as I can. If someone messages me and I don't respond right away, my mind starts thinking, "What if something happens to them before I reply?…See More

"Hi Rosa, First, I am so sorry for the loss of your grandmother. Losing someone you love only two days ago is incredibly painful, and it’s understandable that you’re feeling unsure about what to do right now. Personally, I don’t…"
