About Me:
27. Work full time, now a full time caregiver as well to my elderly father.
About my Loss:
My parents were always the “older” oarents. Dad was 58 when i was born, my mom was 42. They married late, retired, moved across the country. Then i was their surprise. Dad got sixk early on in my life and my mom, with her strength, took care of him through everythinng. She leaned on me from an early age too. She took care of her parents through their illnesses, with her father passing away the year before she married my dad.

We always anticipated my dad going first. The morning of December 22, my dad called me and tkls me to sit down. Mom was gone. He went in at 9 am to check on her and found her face down on the floor. Two days before, my dad had a wonderful doctors appointment that had my mom sobbing with joy. Did she feel she could let go

As a kid, I knew my dad would be okay and fight his cancer bc my mom said he would be okay. I had noticed the past year some weight gain but I attributed it to not the best diet and lack of exercise, but I didnt bug her too much. She deserves some relaxation. Turns out it was prob a ly herheart.

Shhe would always want to be left alone and not fussed over. I would say “hey, now that dad js getting better, lets get you checked out!”. She always said no.

She was 27 when her mother passed. I was 27 when she went. I miss her more than anything. Some days are fine, Infeel her with me. Others, like today, I burst into tears hearing one of her favoritye singers on the radio.

This js so hard. My husband and I movdd in with my dad as he is 86 and while mostly independent, hasnt touched bills or set out his own pills in years. I just want to si right by mom.

I love you mom.

Thanks for lettjng ne share.

Does anyone else feel pressure to always reply because you're afraid it'll be the last conversation?

Hi everyone. This is my first post here.I lost my brother in December 2024 to an accidental overdose. He passed away suddenly in his sleep. We were only a year and a half apart in age, and he was the closest person I've ever had.One thing I've been struggling with ever since is that I feel an overwhelming pressure to reply to texts and answer calls as soon as I can. If someone messages me and I don't respond right away, my mind starts thinking, "What if something happens to them before I reply?…See More
