About Me:
I am a 52 y.o. female who lost her 88 year old mother October 24, 2013, slightly more than one month before she would have celebrated her 89th birthday.
About my Loss:
My mom had CHF, and had not been eating well but she was adamant about being in control of her medical care..she did not go to the hospital easily and I'm not sure it would have made a difference. I was her caregiver in addition to full time work from home and was supposed to leave town for work for 4 days. I told my mom if she didn't think I should go I wouldn't. She said "NO, GO!!" so I left. The 2nd day I was gone, my mom went to the hospital and seemed to be doing okay. Even still, I rescheduled my flight to return 1 day earlier and planned to go to the hospital to see her as soon as I returned. Unbeknownst to me she passed about about two hours before I arrived at the airport. My son and daughter (which was unusual) were there to pick me up. I ran to the car and jumped in the back seat. My son said "Brittany is in the car, mom". I said "what?" not aware anything was wrong. Then my daughter said, "Mom, grandma's gone". I have been crying several times every day since that moment.

My mom died 4 months ago

My mom had pulmonary fibrosis. She was sick for a few years. It was funny how when my grandmother smoked, my mom would always say-I’m gonna die from second hand smoke. My mom never smoked. She died from lung disease. Ironic.I was fine at the funeral. Planning. Talking to everyone. I thought u handled it great. Now 4 months later, I’m a mess. Some days I’m perfectly fine, but others I can’t walk down the street without crying. I keep thinking that I haven’t talked to her in a while & I…See More
