I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.

If you have lost a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide please share your story or feelings here. Share the love and beauty of the one you lost. Losing someone any of these ways is not natural and can be hard to understand and ask why? I lost my Mother to an overdose 9 years ago. She also suffered from major depression. Hi Anne,
Just wanted to check on you today. I myself had a rough day today.Starting crying at lunch at work. I was in a conference room by myself. I miss him so much, my heart literally aches. Are you doing okay? Do you work? Do you have any support around you? Just wanting to see how you were today and let you know I'm thinking and praying for you sweet friend.

Welcome to this site. I just found it myself. I too lost my husband in my forties. Well, I'm 49, he was 45 years old. He had a heart attack on January 31st. I have lost my best friend and my rock. I too am scared about facing life alone. My friends cannot relate either, but please feel free to write me anytime. We can share our experiences and maybe somehow we won't feel so alone. This sucks, I know....I'm not really sure how to move foward. It's very scary and lonely. But, I'm here if you want/need to talk. Maybe we can help each other somehow.
