About Me:
I am 26. I have lost a brother and I know what it means to reach out.
About my Loss:
It tore my family apart. He died of cancer but his father, my former stepfather, tormented my family and I believe in having an outlet. My family, for what I knew, was torn apart by him and his actions.

Dear Ana,

I am so sorry to hear about your loss but it sounds like you have two reasons for grieving. Loosing your brother is heart wrenching but then to have your family torn apart just magnifies the pain. You have found an excellent support system hear on www.onlinegriefsupport.com . . .

As difficult as your loss is, living through the agony of having your family support system torn apart, only introduces a whole new loss that you will grieve. You have experienced a fact that we have all learned - everyone grieves in their own way for a span of time unique to them. Grief isn't a destination - it is a journey during which you will experience many emotions.

A suggestion: Talking can be a helpful release. Following the death of all ten of his children, as well as some other personal tragedies, the ancient patriarch Job said: “My soul certainly feels a loathing toward my life. I will give vent to [Hebrew, “loose”] my concern about myself. I will speak in the bitterness of my soul!” (Job 1:2, 18, 19; 10:1) Job could no longer restrain his concern. He needed to let it loose; he had to “speak.” Similarly, the English dramatist Shakespeare wrote in Macbeth: “Give sorrow words; the grief that does not speak whispers the o’er-fraught heart and bids it break.”

Please know that I will listen anytime you need someone to listen or even have a need to blow off a little steam. If you want your feelings to be private just  accept or request that person's friend request and then you can will then be able to email them within the onlinegriefsupport system - the Inbox is located in the top right corner.

(((((HUGS))))),

Brenda

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More
