About Me:
I am a mom of 3 boys. I became a nurse when my guys were little and luckily acquired a job in home healthcare. I have always felt that as a caregiver, it is as important to take care of a patients emotional well-fare along with their physical. In home healthcare, we are able to become close to our patients and their families due to the "home" setting.
About my Loss:
When I graduated from nursing school, in 1996, my first patient was Carolyn. She was a gift to me from the very beginning. Carolyn was diagnosed with Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Developmental Retardation. Mentally, she was like a small child. To me, she was wonderful. In 1999, I found a charity org. that donated plan tickets and CVS-$1000 for myself and Carolyn to go to Graceland to see her idol's home--ELVIS. She had adored him since the age of 9.
God had blessed me with 3 boys and Carolyn was my girl. She was my patient and "daughter" for 14 years. Recently, on Dec. 23, my whole world changed and Carolyn suffered a cardiac arrest. I lost her that morning and my life will NEVER be the same. You have to understand, that for 14 years my life consisted of getting up EVERY a.m @ 6 and spending the whole day caring for her. For the past 10 years-Monday-Sunday, she was not only my "job, but my life.
I am lost without her

Grandma sewing room

So I am almost done with cleaning my grandmas sewing room that wasn’t touched in 10 years because of all the mess, but now that she passed away 2 days ago, I don’t know if I should continue, I wanna finish what I started but I don’t know what to do, my grandpa is still alive and I don’t want to leave this burden on him.See More
