Profile Information

About Me:
I teach at a small private 4-year liberal arts college in the upper midwest. I am a musician and trying to work on writing for pleasure.
About my Loss:
I lost my grandmother in May of 2010, on my graduation day from my doctorate and her 88th birthday. On November 2 we lost our first furson, Schroeder Braveheart, to kidney failure. Of course I'm sad about my grandmother, but she is in heaven with my grandfather (the only place she ever wanted to be), whom we lost in 2002. I'm having an unbelievably hard time getting over Schroeder. He was truly an "angel boy" and I feel like I am never going to be whole again. My grieving is affecting his "sister" Macy, and I don't want my grief to bring her down. She's 10 and in seeming perfect health, and yet I now have this completely irrational fear that she's going to die immediately.

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More
