You are the most magical creature in the world" the sad little girl said dreamily to the little butterfly. “I wish I could be like you."

She then felt herself grow smaller, while her arms grew wide and thin... soon she was fluttering and hovering beside the other.

“I’m a butterfly!” she cried in delight.

They flew across the glistening water, their wings shimmering in the sun. “I feel so light and graceful,” said the little girl. “I wish this would never end.”

Before long they reached the landing which led into the forest. The instant the child touched the ground, she was changed back to human form.

“I will leave you here,” said the beautiful butterfly.

“Oh, Mother,” cried the girl, “take me with you. I want to be a butterfly forever too!”

“That would not be right,” said the butterfly. “You belong there, but now I will always be here with you.”

The little girl waved as the butterfly flew away.

Then a very happy little girl returned home, with a heart that had wings of a butterfly.

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More

Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.
