Why does God allow so much suffering?
Does God take our loved ones?
Is God really to blame?
Do we have "our time" set by God?

Not intended for debate, but just for healthy discussion of the many ways people feel. Angry, abandoned, hurt, confused, comforted, etc.

Kim,

Sorry about the delay.

On the Jews being Gods chosen people. You are correct that they were a special people set aside by God for a specific reason.

There was a condition...they needed to be obedient.

Exodus 19:5 And now if YOU will strictly obey my voice and will indeed keep my covenant, then YOU will certainly become my special property out of all [other] peoples, because the whole earth belongs to me. 6 And YOU yourselves will become to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.'...

Were they? NO

And because of their continued disobedience (the last act was their rejection of Jesus as the Messiah) Jesus told them this.

Matthew 21:43 This is why I say to YOU, The kingdom of God will be taken from YOU and be given to a nation producing its fruits.

And

Matthew 23:37 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the killer of the prophets and stoner of those sent forth to her,—how often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks together under her wings! But YOU people did not want it. 38 Look! YOUR house is abandoned to YOU.

So the Jews, according to the BIBLE, are NOT Gods chosen people. They violated their part of the contract, or covenant with God.

Dennis,

Thank you so much for discussing so many issues.  It has really opened my eyes and moved me back toward my religion.  I greatly appreciate what you have done for me.

She died from lung disease. Ironic.I was fine at the funeral. Planning. Talking to everyone. I thought u handled it great. Now 4 months later, I’m a mess. Some days I’m perfectly fine, but others I can’t walk down the street without crying. I keep thinking that I haven’t talked to her in a while & I…See More
