Angel,

I am so sorry for the loss, heartache and pain that you feel. My daughter Kashmir died from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia last year 17 weeks after her diagnosis, just 2 months prior to her 21st birthday. You have to take it one moment at a time. Sometimes its all that you can handle. It is different for everyone. If I did not have Jesus, my family and friends, I would have never made it this far. To say it is a struggle is an understatement. Talk about it. Journal it. Cry. Scream. Whatever may work for you. Your family is in my prayers. May God's peace overwhelm you, His comfort overtake you and His grace sustain you in Jesus' name!

so sorry for your loss Lazondral.  and that your daughter's illness went so quickly.  I lost my son not quite 8 months after his diagnosis, and it was not enough time to really deal with the reality of his illness.  I agree, it is different for everyone, and whatever works to get a parent through this unspeakable loss is what makes sense.  Take care, as best as you can

Angel,

the pain is unbearable for a parent.  I lost my 29 year old son Silas to lung cancer in 2008. Along with the pain of losing my son, I have had to deal with stupid questions about lung cancer (if you have a lung you can get it, but it's so stigmatized most people don't realize. and either way, it's just so insensitive on top of losing a child).  I would like to hear more about your daughter some time.  I am so sorry for your loss.  I wish I could say it gets easier, but it doesn't seem to, at least for me.  Hang in there, it has been a very short time and hopefully as time goes by you will find ways to regain some strength, the strength I am sure you had for your daughter during her illness...

Our youngest son Chris died in Oct of 2007 after an 8 month battle with T-Cell LymphoBlastic Lymphoma. It happened so fast we barely got to deal with him being sick, let alone being told that everything had been done, and we could take him home. We have found that being involved in our local chapter of The Compassionate Friends has been a great support, there are also some online support chats on The Compassionate Friends web site as well as at GROWW.org  (look for the Heavenly Angels Chat.  Mostly be gentle on yourself, you are walking a new path now, and you are a different person, some people won't understand that, and they want the old you back, but you are a new person. Lean on those that understand.
