I don't know if I am in the right place or not. I don't know where to go. I can't stop crying, I can't sleep, and I can't eat. I am so sad.
Last week someone broke into my mom's house and attacked her. We don't know what happened. My mom is still on a ventilator and pneumonia has set in. She also has COPD, punctured lung, 4 broken ribs, left wrist and arm broken, most of her facial bones and sinus cavities are broken, broken vertebrate, and skull fracture.
The doctors can't give me good news or bad news. I'm just praying. I don't know what to say. The pain so bad. I am a single mom and don't feel I can do anything. I'm shutting down. I love my mom so much. She and I have had so many problems. She's an alcoholic and wasn't a good mom when I was a kid. She and I have become closer since I have been an adult even though she still drank. I went and visited her the day it happened. The next morning I got the phone call. Please help. How do I ease the pain. How do I keep hope.

Catherine, my prayers are with you and your mom. Do you have family that can provide you with emotional support right now? You might also check with social services at the hospital as they might provide you with agencies that can help you cope with what has happened. The police department may also be able to provide you with agencies that can provide counseling. If you have not done so please visit your primary care physician for help. Do you have family and/or friends close by to be with you? If you belong to a church please reach out.
Please keep us posted on your mom's progress as well as how you are doing. Take some deep breaths and think good thoughts about your mom. Try and get some rest and please try to eat...you stated you are a single mom so your child/children need you.
Take care of yourself.
Laura
I'm a single mom also, it is not as easy as people say to just focus on your child when you are in nightmare. if you pray then pray....if not find a means to vent, I know its not so easy to find childcare when needed and the people you think will be there for you just start talking about themselves again after sometime has passed. What happen to her was brutal and wrong and I'm soooo sorry and wish I had the right words to say to make it all better, I guess just try not to focus on the past, it sound like one of you may have guilt ( i dont know...shout in the dark)
all you can do is find things that keep you busy and remember that grief is a like titter totter, it can go both ways. Just try not to let is consume you and ask the 'what ifs"

your welcome to contact me if you want to talk more, not sure if I helped
I m so sorry that you going through this situation. It is really awful time for you. You can take her hospital and give her good treatment. I pray to God for you and your mom. I hope everything will be fine. You and your mom always in my prayers and thoughts. Sympathy Verse
