My Dad died suddenly and unexpected 4 weeks ago. I am struggling to cope. I have two boys aged 6 and 14 who had a special bond with my Dad. My eldest is finding it hard too. Mum and he had been together for over 50 years. The sadness in her eyes is hearbreaking. I'm so upset and I can't see how it will ever be any better as he's never coming back. It's never going to be ok. I cry going to bed and cry every day. It's unbelievable this has happened. He was not ill. He died of an Abdominal auric annurism.

Denise,

I am so sorry for your loss. I had a grandfather die from the same thing. It was sudden and unexpected.

Attached is a magazine about Death. It is educational. Comforting, and gives us hope for the future.

I hope it helps.

Oh my!!!I lost my mom Oct.7,2015 to the same thing. My mom was 69 years old.My mom and dad were married for 52 years. And my mom and I were stuck together like glue.We did everything together.I am lost.As a person of 51 years old,I feel like such a baby.I find myself saying every day to my mom,"I am so sorry mom."I worry about my dad.Nothing can fill the void that you feel.

I`m so sorry for your loss!If you need someone to talk to I am here. <3

Thank you Wendy. You replied on my Dads bithday :-(
As well as trying to cope with my own grief my teenager is struggling and I feel so sad for my Mum. Just thinking of her alone. I can see the sadness in her all the time it's heartbreaking. It's 8 weeks today and still hard to believe this has happened to us. I miss him so much. We do a lot with my Mum but at the end of the day she is still home alone. You are right nothing can or ever will fill the void. It's awful.

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More

Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.

Loss of a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide

If you have lost a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide please share your story or feelings here. Share the love and beauty of the one you lost. Losing someone any of these ways is not natural and can be hard to understand and ask why? I lost my Mother to an overdose 9 years ago. She also suffered from major depression. Her doctor got her hooked on pain medication and she was addicted most of my life. These doctors who were suppose to help her ended up killing her in the end. I also…See More
