Missing loved one interfering with relationship

I've been going through the grieving process the last almost 6 months. My dad passed away when I was only 18, I'm almost 19 now. I got in a great relationship with the most amazing guy :) both of us are going to spend the rest of our life together, but idk how to casually bring up my dad cuz he wants to know more but when I bring it up it seems like he doesn't want to talk about it. My dad was a great man and I'd love as much as he would to be able to just talk about him and continue the grieving process.

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.
