A WEEK BEFORE 18 year-old Ben Breedlove died of a heart attack, the Texas teenager posted a remarkable video describing the peace and bright lights he'd found the other times his heart stopped.

RIP BEN BREEDLOVE

poor kid he did not evn hav a lifee so sad

When the Japanese mend broken objects, they aggrandize the damage by filling the cracks  with gold. They believe when something's suffered damage and has a history it becomes more beautiful.

Zell, you sure do search the scriptures. Cannot seem to find an answer to the question I asked but that's ok.

One more question if I may. Do you think God left out some warning to Adam about further punishment or was it death, like it says. To me that would have been a good time to let him know the eternal destination of himself and the majority of his offspring. Hitler et al got nothing on Adam.

Honestly I don't know jack, just trying to come to grips with alot of questions.

Quincyjr

Excellent question

Here is the CLEAR answer

Genesis 2:17 — But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will certainly die.”

Genesis 3:17-19 — And to Adam he said: “Because you listened to your wife’s voice and ate from the tree concerning which I gave you this command, ‘You must not eat from it,’ cursed is the ground on your account. In pain you will eat its produce all the days of your life. 18 It will grow thorns and thistles for you, and you must eat the vegetation of the field. 19 In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return.”

Before he sinned the penalty was "death"
After the sin death was described as "For dust you are and to dust you will return.”

The Bible also tells us this about death

Psalms 146:4 — His spirit goes out, he returns to the ground; On that very day his thoughts perish.

A person "soul" cannot experience torment in the condition that the Bible clearly states.
And here are some scriptures that again describe death

Ecclesiastes 9:10 — Whatever your hand finds to do, do with all your might, for there is no work nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom in the Grave, where you are going.

Psalms 115:17 (KJV-S) — The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence.

Acts 7:60 — Then, kneeling down, he cried out with a strong voice: “Jehovah, do not charge this sin against them.” And after saying this, he fell asleep in death.

John 11:11-13 (ASV) — These things spake he: and after this he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus is fallen asleep; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. 12 The disciples therefore said unto him, Lord, if he is fallen asleep, he will recover. 13 Now Jesus had spoken of his death: but they thought that he spake of taking rest in sleep.

Notice the consistent description of death as "sleep" , "Rest", where there is no Knowledge, etc.

This makes it very difficult to understand the teaching of eternal torment

Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More

Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.

Loss of a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide

If you have lost a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide please share your story or feelings here. Share the love and beauty of the one you lost. Losing someone any of these ways is not natural and can be hard to understand and ask why? I lost my Mother to an overdose 9 years ago. She also suffered from major depression. Her doctor got her hooked on pain medication and she was addicted most of my life. These doctors who were suppose to help her ended up killing her in the end. I also…See More
