Dittos and peace Unc Den.

Zell,

I would like you to do something simple for me if you could....

I have in the past shown you several scriptures that tell us the that soul dies...(Ezekial 18:4, 20) (hence it is not immortal)
( did you know that the words soul...and immortal...are not found together in any scriptural passage?)

Please keep this simple....could you show me somewhere ANYWHERE just a simple Scripture or two that simply says that it does not die?

Not something that you interpret. Not something that you explain with your own view. Just simply what the Bible SAYS.
King James Version
Eze 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

American Standard Version
Eze 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

Byington
Eze 18:4 Here, all souls belong to me; the father’s soul and the son’s alike, to me they belong; the soul that sins, that one shall die.

These different translations say the same thing....that the soul dies.

I am not quoting a magazine, or an organization. This is the BIBLE clearly stated. No interpretation!!

Show me a scripture that tells me it does not. No interpretation. Just a scripture please.
A couple questions

How can Christ be "Clearly God's Son"......and "fully God"????

Jesus said that the "Father is greater than I am"
Jesus called the Father "my God" even after he was resurrected
When in Heaven with God the Bible tells us that Jesus is subjected to his Father.
Jesus prayed to His Father many times, and taught us to Pray to the Father as well

Please don't give me interpretation..."this is what that means, etc."
I need Bible verse

And as far as "triune" it's just not in the Bible. Please show me one scripture that says the Holy Spirit is God.

Quincy,

The fundamentalist version of Christianity says this, and maybe reading the bible in a certain way. I very much doubt if there's a god at all, but if there is I think it's a mistake to ascribe to that god the views of some of its followers.

Of course you see that those said to be tormented forever and ever are who?

1) The devil
2) The beast
3) The false prophet

Where are all the people?

The Bible says this of the ungodly

2 Thessalonians 1:9 (ASV) — who shall suffer punishment, even eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his might,

2 Peter 3:7 (ASV) — but the heavens that now are, and the earth, by the same word have been stored up for fire, being reserved against the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

There is a difference we need to note.
Where the Bible says the torment of Satan is his end, the Bible also says that

"Destruction" is the end of ungodly men. NOT ETERNAL TORMENT.

If something is destroyed it no longer exists. If it no longer exists...no Torment.
By the Zell

Although I am asking questions on areas of disagreement I would like to say that there are many things that I agree with.

1)We do need to help others
2)We do need to accept the ransom of Christ

3)We do need to Worship our creator and acknowledge his sovereignty
4)Jesus Christ and his brothers (saints as you say) will rule over the earth
And there is more

I don't want you to ever feel like I just want to argue. I really just love discussing the Bible.

I love discussing anything with anyone actually. I love to educate myself...as I feel that is the best way to seek truth.

So please understand....I am not ever trying to prove anyone wrong...I am wholeheartedly pursuing what is right.

And my purpose here of course is to help those wonderful people here by offering comfort. I have not lost my mate, but she has had a terrible struggle with cancer (4 occurrences) I have lost MANY whom I love, and I miss them dearly...every day. My heart aches for others that I know (including here) who have lost husband, or wife, or child, or grandchild...

What I believe to be truth has given me GREAT comfort, and I just want to share that with others.

The thing that's destroyed is the ungodly part of man, not the man. How far away are any of us from being the worst but for the intervention of God in our lives. Something about this not being of ourselves, not able to boast and all that.

The only brief moments of, and only seconds sometimes, of  comfort come when I ponder what I hope is God's plan actually coming true. The savior of ALL in due time.

What will it be like for a mother in heaven who sees her son burning in hell?

She will glorify the justice of God.

Catholic Truth Society.

In a certain quarter of London, one of the many evangelists employed for that purpose, had gone forth to preach to the people. When he had concluded an eloquent address, he was thus accosted by one of his hearers: Sir", said the man," may I ask you one or two questions?" Surely, said the preacher. "You have told us that God's love for us is very great and very strong." Yes", "that He sent His Son on purpose to save us, and that I may be saved at this moment, if I will." "Yes,""But, that if I go away without an immediate acceptance of this offer, and if, a few minutes after, I were to be by any accident killed on my way home, I should find myself in hell for ever and ever". "Yes". "Then," said the man "If so, I don't want anything to do with a Being whose love for me can change so completely in five minutes".

Exactly. I don't either.

And thank goodness that that is NOT the God of the Bible.

The God of religion....YES

But not the God of the Bible.

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.

Loss of a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide

If you have lost a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide please share your story or feelings here. Share the love and beauty of the one you lost. Losing someone any of these ways is not natural and can be hard to understand and ask why? I lost my Mother to an overdose 9 years ago. She also suffered from major depression. Her doctor got her hooked on pain medication and she was addicted most of my life. These doctors who were suppose to help her ended up killing her in the end. I also…See More
