Is anyone familiar with Australian Aboriginal Smoking Ceremony?

I was going through my Ma's camera, and from the photos and video taken, it looks like she had an Aboriginal elder perform a smoking ceremony in her new home.

I'm pretty ignorant on the purpose of these ceremonies. What do they do? Mum respected Aboriginal lore pretty seriously, now I wonder if that's why, even after her passing, her home is still so comforting and warm to me.

But yeah, if anyone can fill me in on what these ceremonies do, I'd be greatly appreciative!

Hi Liz

I have witnessed an Aboriginal smoking ceremony at my sons school. To the best of my knowledge the ceremony is performed by an aboriginal elder and the purpose is to clear away bad energy / feelings and replace them with peace and harmony.

No wonder her house feels comforting and warm :)
