Because it hurts too much to think about her, to set out two plates and forget she isn't alive

I understand about that; I guess I just respond to it differently.  I only want to think about my husband, I have no interest in anything else.

If you really love her, i don't think there is any way to forget her. You might be able to move on in your life, some people can (I'm not one of them, and wouldn't want to be).  Maybe consider grief counseling.
