My partner (then wife when legal) were together for almost 40 years.  She died in June of 2015.  My life has always been a rather full one - loving family and friends and although retired I continue to maintain numerous activities.  I tell you this as I mourn my spouse's death tearfully today.  Today is Rosh Hashanna year 5777 - and going to services for me is terribly difficult without her.  Instead, this year (as last) I am visiting Jewish people who are hospitalized.  It helps me to get through these days of awe.  I am kind of a pagan in many ways - but once a Jew always a Jew!  This is the first time I have connected this way.  Thanks for listening and I hope hearing some of my anguish reading through the lines and between them is providing some camaraderie and solace.
