Don't grieve alone; 14,000 members and growing
Today I finally decided to take a walk - something I hadn't done since losing my son Michael on June 9, 2014. A good friend of mine brought me a book of meditations titled, "Healing after Loss" by Martha Whitmore Hickman and I happen to turn to the reading for June 9th. The first line read, "Above all do not lose your desire to walk". Though walking isn't the only means of exercise, her message is about movement and that by engaging in that activity, we are acting out the movement away from sadness and depression.
No doubt it can be challenging to find the energy to move and, as she says, if we wait for it, it may never happen. I'm so proud of myself for following her advice and taking the leap of faith that I would feel better. I hope you too can muster up the strength to do something small for yourself like a walk, a bike ride, etc. Please let me know if you do and how it felt. I'm right there with you - Gale

Ugh is right!
How nice to hear Connie - that gives me hope knowing that this book has helped you. I want so desperately to get beyond this grief but I also understand that in order to do that, I HAVE to go through it - Ugh!
Gale - I love that book! The messages and quotes are so inspirational. It has helped me everyday. A friend of our who lost her husband a few years ago gave it to me when my son passed. Her husband was my husband's best friend. I'm glad you were given it as well.
