About my Loss:: I los my husband on nov. the 23, he was a recovering alchoholic, which he just admitted 1 year ago. was sober for 8 months, fell off the wagon (as they say) and died 3 months later of liver and kidney failure, at the young age of 59 and a half.

Dear Jackie, I just read your post. My heart feels your pain. I too lost my husband Sept. 29, 2010 from liver cancer due to alcoholism...He was 55 years old. Three months later I was run over in a parking lot by someone driving an SUV and texting. They also backed off. After much time I am not able to function like I was and miss my husband immensely, I too know what it is like for friends to scatter. I can't even work and have no other family. I connect with a few on line support groups that are helpful. I suggest you look into Al-Anon if you haven't already. Be easy on your self and know you are not alone. Painfully Ellen, HUGS to you.
