I am a 51 year old female, married with a 20 year old son and a 17 year old daughter. I was a Human Resources Regional Manager until I decided to stay home with my children. I am currently a substitute teacher.
About my Loss:
My beautiful, generous and loving 90 year old mother passed away on 10/16/12. Mom was in the early to mid stages of dementia but was otherwise physically healthy. She was due to be released from rehab, where she was after I found her unable to walk due to dehydration. She was in the hospital for 3 days and sent to rehab. At rehab she was being treated for a UTI with intravenous antibiotics, since the oral antibiotics were not working. On the day she was due to be released (and was so happy to be going home) the rehab called me to tell me she couldn't be released because they think she had a reaction to the antibiotics and had a contagions disease called c. diff. Mom passed away 3 days later. I am still in shock as to how we were planning for her home care and then had to plan for her funeral.
