I am a wife and a mother to one daughter. My husband suffers from debilitating health issues and I am the sole provider for my family.
About my Loss:
My parents had me very late in life and so as an adult, my parents are quite older than most of my contemporary's parents. As I am the only child, my bond with my parents is very strong. When my father showed signs of progressive dementia, he also started having small strokes. My father has had a very long and wonderful life, and he has always been my rock. As he always recovered so quickly after an episode, it took my mom and I by complete shock when the hospital told us we needed to seek hospice care. He had been to the doctor not a couple weeks before and he had said my dad was in excellent health and would probably live to be 100. When my dad came home from the hospital, his health declined rapidly and he passed away within 2 weeks. I am now suffering from depression and have had multiple anxiety attacks since his passing. My mom seems like a zombie and she keeps telling me she's fine. I'm just feeling lost and since I can't afford a counselor I came here.
